At The Catered Affair, we are proud to bring the classic afternoon tea experience to Boston at the Courtyard Tea Room in the historic Boston Public Library in Copley Square. From the start, we made it our mission to introduce a new audience to the charm and ceremony of tea at the library, inviting local Bostonians and tourists alike the opportunity to come together on special occasions, birthdays, and on trips from all across the world. Through this, we have given library patrons a deeper experience of the Boston Public Library, adding a taste of fine cuisine to their day of exploring the art and architecture of this great institution.

While we are proud of this success, we always have our eyes to the future. With the Map Room Tea Lounge, we feel we’ve crafted an tea experience unlike any other in Boston with a taste of the future and a feel of the past all in one place.

With industrial accents and a cozy intellectual vibe, the Map Room Tea Lounge draws inspiration from the literature and innovation of the 1800s to create a salón for the modern world within the historical Boston Public Library. Join us for author-inspired tea cocktails (yes, that’s right—tea cocktails!) and casual a la carte options, like artisanal cheese & charcuterie and an inventive selection of tartines. Grab a seat in the lounge with friends or sidle up to our 10-seat tea bar, manned by our team of tea mixologists. In addition to a stellar menu, enjoy Wisdom Wednesdays with our visiting tea-leaf reader for insights from the bottom of your cup, and live instrumental music from local student musicians on Thursdays —starting later this spring!

Come by starting MARCH 20 to experience what we call “A TALE OF TWO TEAS”. For reservations, call 617-869-2251. We can’t wait to have you join us, cheers!
